In the future, up to 110 charging points will the electric cars on the tarmac and in the internal fleet
Significant reduction in costs compared to conventional charging concepts
In addition to the large number of charging points that Stuttgart Airport already operates, there are now additional charging points from chargeBIG, which are used for charging employee and customer vehicles, but also for charging fleet vehicles for apron handling on the tarmac. All chargeBIG charging points have been realized with a phase individual and dynamic load management, so that load peaks in the airport grid due to e-mobility can be avoided. The grid connection did not have to be extended for the electrification. The implemented integration of the charging infrastructure into the customer’s energy management system was of particular interest for Stuttgart Airport.
For the application on the tarmac, no billing of the individual charging processes is necessary, therefore the corresponding measuring technology could be dispensed with. At the new locations, billing of the individual charging processes in compliance with calibration law is offered and made possible. It is also possible to activate and charge the charging points via eRoaming (intercharge).

Equipping of three locations on the airport site, both indoors and outdoors. Of these, 18 single-phase AC charging points are located on the administrative grounds and over 50 single-phase AC charging points are located on the tarmac, each with a charging capacity up to 7.2kW.
2020
Equipping of two further locations on the airport site indoors and outdoors. Of these, 34 single-phase AC charging points are located at car park P2 and 20 single-phase AC charging points at car park P8/P9, each with a charging capacity up to 7.2 kW.
"The chargeBIG system runs almost trouble-free - with over 10,000 charging processes, not a locked cable yet."
"Due to the many billing options in the future, we are flexible in the use of the charging points."
