For municipalities and cities, the chargeBIG charging infrastructure at public locations, such as Park&Ride parking lots or in parking garages, is interesting. chargeBIG is compliant with calibration law and charging electricity can therefore be charged to third parties. In this case, charging processes are paid ad-hoc via common means of payment such as credit card or PayPal. A payment terminal can also be set up at public locations. For municipalities and cities, the chargeBIG solution can also be used at parking areas of their own fleet.

The municipality of Lorch in Baden-Württemberg relies on chargeBIG’s full-service charging solution at the Park & Ride parking lot right next to the train station. We offer public charging at 28 parking spaces in an urban context. The technical operation as well as the billing processing with the end users is realized by chargeBIG.

The utilization of the GHG quota is also in our hands. GHG quota trading increases the share of renewable energies in the transport sector and describes the mandatory purchase of certified GHG quotas for fossil fuel distributors. These GHG quotas are in turn offered for sale on the market by operators of charging stations. The additional revenues from the GHG quotas and the federal subsidy for the installation of the charging points contribute to the economic viability of municipal and urban projects.
